To download a youtube video, don't bother with the GUIs and online downloaders, they are full of spam.
Just use a free command line downloader. Get yourself a copy of yt-dlp.exe and from command line run:
yt-dlp.exe -f best https://youtube.com/watch?v=XYZ
If you have some weird stream that
is only downloading a minute or so, then get yourself ytarchive.exe instead and run:
ytarchive.exe "https://youtube.com/watch?v=XYZ" best --merge --wait
In in DAW use the Windows WASAPI driver over direct sound, it is much better. ASIO is best, but that has limited
specific drivers. Windows+R then run mmsys.cpl then for your normal listening playback device bring up properties,
and then in advanced make sure everything is ticked (exclusive) and choose a better format eg 24 bit 48kHz. In your
DAW, in the preferences for audio settings, set the driver to WASAPI.
In a synology NAS, free up disk space by deleting duplicate files using the built in system. Browse to your
NAS, go to the Storage Analyzer (in packages). Create a new report, find duplicates. Open and delete - note that
this is just for identical files (but called different names).
